I really do not recommend the Old Range Steakhouse as my family and friend and I were treated so rudely by the owner this last Friday evening. There were many open tables and we asked for a table for 8. He replied he had nothing. We then stated 2 tables of 4 would be fine. He again said he had nothing. We asked for a reservation for the next evening (Saturday) he said he had nothing all night. How about 2 tables of 4? He again said he had nothing on Saturday all night. I called him to see if he would discriminate over the phone and sure enought when I asked to reserve a table for 8 at 6:30 pm the 1st thing he asked was whether there were any children in the party. I stated yes and he then asked how old. When I told him he said he had nothing available at all all evening. He was very, very rude and I strongly encourage you to avoid this establishment, kids or no kids in your party.

my friend's 30th birthday was ruined! i have dietary needs, and have managed to find something on the menu that could accomodate them. after the bill arived they tried to charge me more than twice of the price that was on the menu - to be more specific, $22 for 5 brussels sprouts and a hand full of broccoli (both just steamed and nothing on them). price on the menu for broccoli or sprouts to feed the entire table was $9. naturally i complained, and got the manager to threaten me that i would 'pay for every cent of the bill' and that we had cost him money as we only had 11 people and not 15 as reserved! one would imagine that if one was spending $600 at a restaurant, they would be treated at least asa decent customer and not get yelled at. not to mention that my friend who was turning the big 30 didn't even get his water cup refilled, let alone anything else. there was 11 of us at the table and none of us are ever going to step in there again - don't eat here it's overpriced, drinks were terrible, and service, well no words to describe it.

Excellent, huge steaks. Best in north shore, Lake Tahoe. Interior was kitschy, but very steakhouse. Food is oustanding, be sure to save room for the cheesecake with strawberries!!

Although it may cost a little more, the Old Range Steakhouse is the best. Very nice atmospher. The cowboy cut prime rib is perfect. You better be real hungry to order the large cut. Best flavor! I love good food, and this place is GREAT!
