39.457522 -119.779783TERRIBLE!. Since it has been taken over from the original brother, a lot has changed for the worse! No more cornbread that they were famous for. Then the music went by by. They used to have a good country singer in there on Fri nights & the bar was packed. That lady is no longer there, but the owner? tries to sing now. Terrible! You need to drink to listen to this stuff! Nothing these people have tried pans out. They messed with the original formula and it has gone down the toilet. It's too bad. It really had potential. The food is terrible. They are out of stuff on a regular basis. What happened? Not something I would recommend even in a pinch!
not bad, but forgettable. Austin's started out up at the lake, and after expanding to Reno, it seems to me like the food quality has slipped a bit. I wouldn't not recommend it, but it's not the first place I'd tell someone to go either. The chili is consistantly good, as are the salads. Waitstaff seems OK, but not stellar either. Very pretty atmosphere of a rustic quality.
cheers of the west coast. Probably one of the best neighborhood bars i've ever been to. The employees are not corporate robots like most restaurants nowadays are. The food was good, and the service was especially personable. I recommend the restaurant and highly recommend the bar. I have never seen a more efficient bartenders who actually seem to really take the time to get to know you, not to mention an excellent mai tai. The person that owns Austins, really has a good thing going.
The service was good, but the food is awful!. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have no taste buds and like the service there. Our waitress was attentive and nice, and very helpful. But the food just wasn't worth it. I can't even remember what type of entree I chose because it was just so lousy. I love macaroni and cheese, so I ordered that as a side, and it was such a disappointment. The cheese sauce tasted bland and seemed like it had been flavored with ground cardboard dust. The cut of meat I chose was dry and bland. My husband, his mom, and his dad all agreed with me. Ick!
