Wonderful Doctor. I too was a patient of Dr. Rasul. I find the other two reviewers' comments to be those of simply irresponsible people. True, Dr. Rasul's office has a strict cancellation policy, which was emphasized on the lengthy financial policy when I first became a patient, and on the receipts I receive after each appointment. I missed an appointment once, with a legitimate reason, and they were kind enough to waive the fee as it was my first and only time. The staff is strict, but kind, and the care I received from Dr. Rasul was second to none. It was obvious to me that he cared deeply about my welfare and well being. He is always extremely timely, thorough, and compassionate. Side note to Gail35, even when they are out of the office there's an answering machine. It's a law in Nevada for physicians, so your story is highly unlikely that she "couldn't leave a message." It's unfortunate that some people refuse to take responsibility for their (or their mother's or daughter's) flakiness and lack of respect for other's valuable time.

Ditto what the other reviewer experienced. My mother, a long time patient of Rasul for Bipolar disorder recently died. I know she always complained about her treatment by him and his staff (I believe they're all his family/daughters) and how he really messed her over with the medication he prescribed. A couple of months before her death, she called to cancel an appointment but no one answered and there was no way she could leave a message for him. She too, (No medicare or health insurance and receiving a small fixed income), was charged over 100.00 for a missed appointment. I don't live in Nevada and as I'm looking into her past, I stumbled across the reviews on Rasul. I wish I had known of his reputation-perhaps I could have convinced her to go elsewhere..but he was familiar so she kept on going even though she hated going there and always complained about his treatment. Find a doctor who cares about you and not just your $$.

Missed appointment: $105, denying care: Priceless. I would like to thank Dr. Rasoul's office for being so compassionate to my family. When my 18 year old daughter could not make her appointment for lack for of funds and transportation, his staff (and by extension the good doctor himself) felt it necessary to extract yet another $105.00 out of her.

When I confronted his office stafff they said "It wouldn't matter if it were $10 or $200. That's just the way it works"

Her appointment was only a periodic review so that she may have gotten her prescription refilled. Later her mother added a $90 credit to this account, leaving a whopping $10 left over. When my daughter went to reschedule the appointment, she was refused treatment until the $10 was paid off.

So kudos to you Doc! Pat your staff on the back for denying a struggling young woman treatment for ten lousy bucks. Afterall the tires on your Mercedes are not going to shine themselves.
