Ignorance and neglect. I've heard mixed reviews about the kennel and wanted to try something new. Overall I wasn't impressed. My doxie stayed for two nights a couple weeks ago and I brought her own food because she's very picky but her food had never been touched. No one could tell me if she had been eating at all since she wasn't eating her food (or it was never given to her) but I know this much, she came home extremely dehydrated. She had severe diarrhea for days after coming home! I am giving 2 stars because the grounds and buildings were clean othewise it would have been 1 star because of the neglect. I do find it convenient that after another poor review, there are three reviews that sound like the same person wrote them. It's probably the only way the owner can keep positive reviews, write them himself

Outstanding!!!. I found Fantasia by their web site. I came into town to visit family for Christmas/New Years. The man on the phone that made my reservation was very nice and informative. He explained to me what they provide and what to bring for my dogs stay. I checked my dog in along with several other people. When I checked in my dog I chose some snacks and grooming while my dog stayed for the weekend. The people that helped me were very nice, and very organized for such a busy day. When I came to pick up my dog I was given a gift bag with a present for my dog and a present for me. My dog was happy and had a holiday scarf on when he met me in the office. His hair cut looked great, they even washed and folded his blanket. I am very happy I found Fantasia and will definitely use them again, I wish I had a place like this back home!!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS KENNEL TO ALL

Lovely Kennel. I was referred to Fantasia by the Eldorado. I was in town for Hot August Nights. I left my dog in their care for 4 nights. The employees in the office were very nice, offered a tour of the building my dog would be staying in. The kennel was neat, smelled clean and the other dogs looked happy with wagging tails as I looked about. Pricing for my dog stay was terrific, but most of all my dog was just as happy when I checked him in and when I checked him out. I brought his own toy and blanket. Both were neatly folded and returned when we left. I come in to Reno every year for Hot August Nights and I will use Fantasia again for my dog!

Wonderful Pet Care. Since moving to Reno in 2007, Fantasia Pet Resort has been the only home away from home for our Schnauzer, Scooter. I have found the owners always pleasant, the kennel extremely clean, and the care my dog receives to be the best I could expect. The kennel hours are extremely convenient, too. Grooming is also available, and the ladies always do a great haircut. When my dog needs meds, everything is written down and gone over with me in detail. His toys are always returned clean, and most of all, Scooter seems very happy. I would highly recommend Fantasia for your pets next vacation. He will be very happy...and you can be assured that your pet is receiving the best care possible.

***False Review Posting***. Both reviews titled "They killed my precious cat" and "One Pro many Cons" are false. Both of these reviews were made by a former disgruntled employee who was recently terminated!

They killed my precious cat!. I left my cat in their service for just over a week and she died two days later after an excruciating battle at my vet because of the neglect this business showed her. If you love your pets, if you ever want to see them alive......keep them away from Fantasia Euthanization Resort

These people have no business caring for peoples' animals!!!!!

One "Pro", many "Cons". Pro:

1) The dog was given back alive

Cons:

1) The dog smelled like it was dead and it just hadn't been buried yet.

2) Not only did he smell like death but the owners arbitrarily charged me for a bath that I didn't ask for instead of keeping the kennels clean.

3) My girlfriend has taken her dog here a couple times and signs her dog up for "pet and play" but myself, my girlfriend, and our friends that board there have never once seen a dog go out for "pet and play"

4) I can tolerate poor customer service if the product sells itself but the product does NOT sell itself. The younger looking owner is smug and condescending and the older owner is quite possibly the most insincere person I've ever met.

5) After my couple of run-ins with both of the owners, I flat out don't trust them. They do offer a good service, THEY just make you feel like they take advantage of you.

What a Great Kennel for Dogs!. Since moving to the Reno area a few years ago, we have used Fantasia Pet Hotel each time we leave for an extended period of time.

The owners go above and beyond to accomodate schedules and we have never had an issue with availability. The kennels are clean, smell great, and the animals appear healthy and content. The kennel has available exercise periods, walks, grooming, etc., so a wide variety of services can be obtained.

This past visit, we were running late due to the snow storm and the staff waited patiently so we could bring our dogs, Angel and Travis, home. When we arrived, the dogs were in great shape, the blankets which we brought were washed and packaged and the rawhides which usually get tossed about were also given back to us. None of this treatment was solicited or expected and we even offered to compensate them for the trouble, but no deal!

The owners/staff have been very good to us and our dogs have always returned happy and healthy. NO COMPLAINTS and we always recommend them to people we know.

Fantasia Pet Resort in Reno - Complaint about Negligence. I just picked up my dog from Fantasia Pet Resort in Reno, NV. When I took her in, she was healthy, brimming with personality and full of life. When I picked her up, she barely acknowledged me, was weak, trembling and looked shell-shocked.

When I called to ask the people at Fantasia Pet Resort what had happened, they told me that my dog was drinking water excessively, but they didn't think this was a concern. I pointed out that this is a SYMPTOM THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG.

When I got my dog home, she drank some water and started vomiting this thick snot-like substance which was covered in foam. I called the vet and the doctor had already left for the night, so I made an appointment for the next morning. I called Fantasia Pet Resort, Reno NV several more times and noticed how their answers to my questions kept changing. First they told me that she'd been drinking water excessively for a couple of days, then they accused me of bringing in a sick dog.

Long story short I had to take my dog to emergency that night. The pads on her paws were cold and she was fading fast. The doctor told me that my dog was severely dehydrated. He also said that I had a choice to euthanize my dog or pay for emergency surgery. I opted for the surgery and my dog had to have her spleen removed.

These people had my dog for 8 days. She was groomed on the last day of her visit, people fed and gave her water daily and no one noticed that something was wrong. No one noticed the dramatic change in her behavior. No one called me to say that my dog was drinking an excessive amount of water because no one cared.

I dropped off a healthy, affectionate, vital dog and picked up a dying, obviously dehydrated dog. I will never ever go back to Fantasia Pet Resort, Reno NV and suggest that you think very carefully before leaving your beloved pet in their care.

SO HAPPY WITH FANTASIA. Have not used Fantasia since the new owners James/Cody took over. We recently left our dog for a week there while my family took a vacation for the summer. I had the pleasure to meet James checking in and he was so nice!! He showed me all the services that he added and all the changes to Fantasia he has made so far. The kennels were neat/clean and smelled wonderful. The office where I checked in my little dog was nicer than the hotel I was staying at on my vacation. I took advantage of the play time and snacks Fantasia offers while my dog was there. I knew he would be in goog care while I was gone. When I came back to pick up my dog both owners James/Cody checked me out. Both very nice and took time to explain how much fun my dog had on his play time activities. Cody and James took my dog out personally for one of his play days. It is nice to see owners of a business take such pride in what they do. I am so glad I came back to Fantasia. I reccomend this kennel to anyone looking to take a trip away from home!!! Thank you Fantasia Pet Resort and James/Cody for taking such good care of my dog. Keep up the good work!!!! Looking forward to use your services in the future.
