RIIP-OFF ALERT J's charged $250 to replace a $3.00 part. To begin, I have a 1974 VW Bus. It’s not restored but I do what I can to keep it on the road. I had recently lost my job, and had to move out of my place. I had a Burning Man ticket burning a hole in my pocket, and nowhere else to go. So took what money I had left and hightailed it across 3 states to get to the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. In fact, I stayed a whole week after Burning man to help clean up after the festival. Now getting to the point. That whole week I spent on the desert playa after the festival, meant a lot of driving through thick dust. Upon leaving, my engine was operating the worst it ever had. I drove over 100 miles to get to Reno at 25 mph, sputtering the whole way. The guys at J s acted like it was a real serious problem. Kept it in the back for a few hours, even. Turned out it was just a clogged fuel filter. Js charged $60.00 for the fuel filter ($3.00 anywhere), and $190 for labor (ten minute job). They are dishonest.

Marty and his team are my go to shop for any service I need done on my VW. They are knowledgable, affordable, friendly and as passionate about my vehicle as I am! I highly recommend their shop to anyone who cares about their car and needs a good mechanic!

Honest, Reasonably Priced, Fast, Quality Service!!! Go HERE. I have a new VW Jetta Sportwagen that I just drove across country. Once we reached Reno, where we moved to this past June, my check engine light came on.

I called the local VW dealership, and found out they would charge me $100 just to hook my car up to their computer. So we decided to look elsewhere.

We found J's VW on the internet, and since the reviews were all great (except for some strange ones from people who had never taken their VWs to J's) we decided to take our Jetta there.

I am so pleased with their work. They ordered the part while I was on the phone. It arrived the next day, and my car was ready the same day. What I had been quoted by the dealership was twice the amount I ended up paying J's. The people that work there love VWs, they are knowledgeable and capable. They even fixed my husband's truck for a fraction on the cost that he had been quoted elsewhere.

In short: I will be back, and if you have a VW you should try them out too!

Quality Service. If you are a proud VW owner, Then J's VW's is the place to take your prize possession, call this shop... The mechanics can work on most every type vehicels too!Quality Service, Quality Mechanics, Quality parts, Quality Vehicels... This is " The best damn VW shop! PERIOD!"

Excellent Repair Shop!!!!!. I personally do own a vw, I am making this comment from previous visits to J's. The shop is a small business, they have quality repairmen as well as the rest of the staff. I have had several repairs made in a timely manner. I myself, almost got into with the office gal as she was fighting me on the repair I was asking for. I thought I knew what it would take to fix my door handle on my Jetta, I insisted they fix it the way I wanted them to, they would not. I actually took my car somewhere else, they ended up being right. I later went back to them with egg on my face. I know that they only wanted to do right by me! I was so impressed & happy! They could have just took my money and did the repair, knowing it wasnt right & wouldnt last, but they didnt! I will forever be a customer!

Take your VW to J's. I personally have also been happy with them. The owner & his girlfriend have a good thing going! The technicians are knowledgeable! They let me watch as they inspected my car, he showed me some of the diagnostic tools. I was pretty impressed. They are a small mom & pop shop. I have been aroud Reno and other shops, this ones for me! Good hourly rate, all around good. I have recommended them before & will again!

J's is #1. Interesting how the other posts that were so rudely posted by what looks like non customers of J's VW are now missing? Could it be that they were really untrue? It appears to be that way! I am a recent customer of J's and have had only good experiences with them. They tell it like it is! Its not their fault that the vehicles we own are working correctly, the costs are what they are! They are very reasonable in prices, easy to communicate with, honest and family oriented. Try taking your volkswagen to the dealership, your nothing but lint there! Theres more to these accusations for sure! Anyone who has a volkswagen should to take it J's! I am proud of the secretary there. She does an amazing job, not a lot of other shops have her abilities!They are the real deal!!!!!!

Please Stay Away. I took a perfectly good VW Beetle in to J's VW Vans because it would not go over 40 miles per hour. What I ended up with you can see in my profile picture. A burned up TOTALED Beetle that according to the owner, set ITSELF on fire. Didn't say sorry, what can I do to help you, nothing but vile and threats came out of their mouths. When I called to try to find out what happened ( yes, I was upset) I was called a name starting with a C by the office manager/girlfriend/whatever.What ever you do DON'T take your vehicle here. This establishment is not capable of working on a tricycle, much less a car, in my opinion.
