Good Buffet. Cheap prices and good food for the money.

Father/Daughter (7YO) Two Day Get-A-Way. It was her first time in Reno. I picked CC solely for the midway.

Hotel / CC: Not a very user friendly hotel, No express check-ins, No let’s put all the people checking in for the events in one line or even lets have more then two people checking in guest. Just when I thought they were sending another person out to help check in one went on brake. With only two people to check in guess when the line was 30+ deep. Check in was as early as 8am and check out was Noon (even though the receipts say 11am)

Rooms: Larger then most (but with not much in them) Small TV & no HDMI (to hook laptops to) Only one free kid friendly channel, Towels very ruff, Internet $9.99 for one day (I did not even bother) Like the entire hotel, DATED. To have a mini frig was another charge of $6 (if you were like me and said no, don’t! Spend the money! It’s worth having it, wish I did) for that matter having a microwave would have been great for those snacks and pop corn. (A Must next time for us!)

Midway: It opens at 10am (9AM would be better for us) and seems to be on the small size along with not really having all that many 7yo friendly games. The free shows were ok they seem to last only for about 4-7 minutes and about an hour + apart. Even to get to the Midway we needed to go down an elevator, up an escalator and down some stairs. (Uhm designers ever heard of direct paths?) Once the escalator was out of service and yet they did not even manage to put a sign or an arrow for a detour.

Buffet: Opened at 7:30 (even though the night before the cashier said 8am) (7am would be better for us) and did have pretty much everything we wanted, Like the self serve Fountain/Milk/Juice never needed to wait for someone to serve us. The cost of the buffet was advertised differently we were charged ($13.99 for dinner $8.99 for breakfast) Going out to eat anywhere else other then a buffet with a child is worthless when compared to the buffet. The Food was good not great seemed some of the meat was cooked too soon and was waiting and cold (we were the first ones in for breakfast) for dinner it seemed the food was not “turned over” or replace and was left setting for too long. The kids buffet section was of course a mess and the pizza was old. Common sense would say the kids section would have more “attention” towards it. With the taco, pizza, mac and cheese no signs of fruit there. Luckily the main buffet had several types of fruits, a great build your own green salad and plenty of good reach foods.

Security:

Lobby; Seen several walking/patrolling.

Midway; Sum but not as much as I would have like to see.

Parking; Bike Patrol, only seen one once.

Overall Quality; Not the best!

Conclusion;

Returning…?

To the Midway? Yes

To the Hotel? I would do some more research on the other hotels that are connected via the dome and see what is included in the rooms. I did some research prior to this trip but now with the experience and the more information I have now I think a higher price for a “Nicer” room with a larger TV, more free kid friendly channels, Free internet Nicer and softer Towels would be worth the added few steps to the midway. Certainly more valuable then the five two for one plays at the Midway (the only coupons that have anything to do with kids)

Prices:

Rates as of Thursday 04-08-10,

Room $49 + Tax, Internet $10, Mini Frig $6, Buffet… Lunch $14, Breakfast $9

Rates I would actually be ok with now! After my experience there!

Room $40 + Tax, Internet $3, Mini Frig Free, Buffet… L $12 B $8

Bad And Good. I like the fact that Circus Circus to Silver Legacy to El Dorado Hotels all connected. Many choices of things to do. A lot of things to do choices of three casinos resturants, and bars and you don't even have to go outside. But buffet is self serve for your own drinks, drinking fountain. But all you can eat sushi lunch one hour for $19.99 at Kokepelli is the bomb.

A great stay. I have stayed at Circus Circus at least 6 times in the past couple years and am absolutely delighted every time with the immaculate accommodations and value. I recommend the Sky (rear) tower as the rates there are lower than the main hotel tower and you can park in a covered garage right at the base of the hotel lobby without having to walk through the noisy, smoky casino. The hotel is always immaculate, staff friendly and helpful, and you can check in as early as 8 AM.

Great Deals. Join the One Club and register online for special offers. Best deals in town. Quiet, comfortable rooms, with great views. Art Gekko's bar and Kokopelli's restaurant are excellent. I like the second floor connection to Silver Legacy and the El Dorado. Circus Circus has no pool, but for a fee you can use the pool at silver legacy.

Cheap, cheap, cheap. If you know what you're getting, Circus Circus is great. It'll be packed with kids and plenty noisy. The rates here -- especially on weekdays -- are ridiculously low.
