best value for a great workout place!!
by phoenixds
some friends referred us to european,so we got a free 2 week pass, which was great because we got to check it out before we joined, and there was no pressure to sign up until we were ready.they have the best price in town, lots of great equipment, pool, sauna, hot tub, aerobics and so much more.everything is as clean as you can expect in a gym that has constant use,and I notice they have a person takes care of any problems that arise in that respect.the people that work there are friendly and helpful.just a good no nonsense place to get healthy.check it out!!

I once 'won' a free month membership at this place, and got bad vibes right away.
The day I show up to claim it, this creepy guy goes into his sales pitch about how if I turn in my month pass, and sign up for a year, he'll wave the enrollment fee. About this enrollment fee, he prefaced it by saying, "Know how most places are 2-300 dollars to sign up?" Guess what, no they are not. I've been to many gyms, even gyms outside of this country, I consider myself a regular gym connoisseur, and that is the first time anyone has quoted that kind of number.
Here's something funny: THE EUROPEAN FITNESS WEBSITE ITSELF SAYS ENROLLMENT IS ONLY 46 DOLLARS, NOT FIVE TIMES THAT LIKE I WAS TOLD. And another thing, I was quoted a 'student rate' of $25 a month, two dollars more expensive than the BASE RATE OFFERED ON THE WEBSITE, AND ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING.
Why would I ever want to enroll with a place that tried to take me with such a transparent con? Especially with the state of disrepair the equipment is in, and the fact their saunas weren't running when I showed up. Furthermore, the fact that they'd expect me to sign up before I even got to test the equipment myself, it's clear this place is bad news.

I have been a member here for over 5 years. I was also a member at SportsWest and 24 Hour. Also Golds. European Fitness is not fancy at all, but who cares if you are going there to work out?? The other clubs were fine, but expensive for what I wanted, and many times just a preening or pick-up spot. I can go to a bar for that, thank you. (and no, I am not old/fat/ugly either!) I see all types of people, all shapes and sizes, and no one bothers me there. Yes, sometimes something is being repaired or one of treadmills are down. But I have never had ANY problems getting a great work out. They have just remodeled the womens locker room/bathroom too. Not the fanciest, but perfect for what I need. And I am not sure why some people have said it is not clean?? I have never seen trash or garbage on the floor, it doesn't stink in there, they have a daily cleaning service. This place is no-nonsense, low monthly payments and friendly staff. Otherwise, I would not have stayed there for so long!
- Pros: new equipment, awsome prices
