Make sure you get a written estimate.
The problem I had was that the required written estimate was never given. They called only after it seemed weird to spend so much on an old bike.
They came to my house to pick up the bike , and the bike was in the same condition as in this video
youtube. /watch?v=DVxOUdApJj0
(you have to add the URL back to the YOUTUBE part)
it needed a seat, the starter switch wire was messed up, so I had to start it by shorting it, as you see in the video. It also needed blinkers, the tail ight, installed, and a few other things.
They said it needed $1400 just to get it running, and then they were not sure what else it would talke to be street legal.
The owner simply got mad when I pointed out he was:
Uneducated
Dishonest
Dirty
Stupid
and he is the round-brown part of your butt, but you cant say that here.
I tried to be cool about it, but soon , his business license will be in jeopardy.
If you want ask him about it, ask to see my written estimate.
IF YOUR BIKE IS HERE, YOU NEED TO GO GET IT. This place will be out of business pretty soon, they are simply not honest
This place is pretty awful.
You need to insist on looking in the back of the shop to see how dirty and disorganized it is.
This place looks like a front to deal drugs just like the bar next door.
Customer Service is the KEY!. I am the owner of Shoeman's Custom Cycle and service is what we sell. I will bend over backwards to satisfy ANY complaint that is brought to my attention as quickly as possible. I have been a BBB member with an A+ rating since 1993 and I really hate people trying to slander me and ruin my name. The disgruntled customer above, all 3 of the same guy, complained to the BBB and LOST in arbitration. He still hasn't paid the bill awarded to me in that arbitration hearing. He is a liar and a deadbeat.
This place is awful. Make sure that you go any other place to get your harley fixed. They can't keep employees, and you are liable to get anyone working on your bike. The owner does not work on the bikes, and it is going to take forever, and cost more than you expected.
Dirty and scatter-brained shop in Reno. All you have to do is ask who will be working on your bike, and then take a look at the shop where they do the work. The only thing more messy than the shop, is what is inside the mechanics head.
The worst motorcycle shop in Nevada.
This place did a bunch of work without ever supplying an estimate, which is required for any work over $50 in Nevada. I filed a criminal complaint with the Reno Police Department in order to get the bike back.
I would never consider this place for anything. I had them come and get the bike, but when I went down there, they had not started doing anything, and they were storing the bike outside until they got to it. This place is just as dirty as the guy who own it, Stephen Greenwald
HELP!. Shoeman's was there when I needed them. On time & well done. And there is a great bar next door.
