Good Chinese Food

Small shop across Virginia Street from the Peppermill. As you might suspect from the name, duck is a featured speciality here. The ingredents are fresh (wherever possible) and well prepared. Spices are used with some restraint to accentuate the natural flavor of the food without overpowering any of the original goodness. In my opinion they use too much oil when cooking --- and some of the dishes are too (spicy) hot for me to eat, even after asking to have the 'heat'[' reduced.

In my experience I have never had better soups than those found at the Chinese Duck House. Their War Wonton is awesome. Many plump and flavorful wonton combined with chicken, roast pork, shrimp and various veggies. I suggest you order "War Wonton Mein" which causes some delicious thin egg noodles to be placed in the bottom of the bowl before all the other goodies are added. Truly a meal in itself. I am not a huge fan of duck, but the cooks here chop up a good-sized portion of duck and add it to a bowl of VERY hot (heat) broth and thin egg noodles. This is a dish that can make your tongue VERY happy!

Some of the dishes offered are prepared differently than I expect, but that generally doesn't detract from the eatability of the dish as long as I keep flexible. Their Singapore Noodles, for instance, is nothing like any description or example of the dish I've ever encountered, but it is a decent enough dish, whatever it might be called.

Good service by people who care about the food they're serving. English is definitely a second language in in small restaurant, but that just adds to the charm and entertainment.\

Best Chinese Food In Reno

This restaurant is hands down the best chinese in Reno. The portions are generous and the quality of food is excellent. The General's Chicken is the best I have ever had anywhere in the U.S.; perfectly prepared. You will be very happy with this restaurant I assure you!
