Don't go here. Apparently the level of care has downgraded since the reviews posted here from 2005.

I had a rather serious injury involving my right hand and was unable to write. When I walked in, I was actually YELLED at by the two women at the front desk to fill out a form before I could be seen. I explained I could not write as I'm right handed, and was met with indifference. Thank goodness my husband arrived shortly thereafter and was able to complete the form.

At check in I was told it was a 2 hour wait. I asked her why since again, this was a serious hand injury involving bleeding and she said it was too bad but ambulances took priority.

I told the triage nurse about a chronic medical condition I have that will impact healing, and she didn't note it in the chart. How do I know? Because when I finally saw the doctor 2 hours later, she had no idea about this condition until I told her - twice.

In total, it took 6 hours for me to get stitches because the medical staff kept leaving me there alone with no idea what was happening. As a result, I may lose part of my finger. I don't know.

Also, no one knew where anything was and they kept leaving to find things, like saline solution, pain meds, discharge forms. The special light the doctor used kept shorting out and she had to hit it more than once to get it to work, and there were random elderly patients wandering the halls in confusion with no one watching out for them. I saw one go by my room 3 times, as he was trying to access the supply closet and no one stopped him.

Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had in an ER. Go to St. Mary's instead if at all possible!

Exceptionally thorough staff.. I've received treatment only one time at NNMC. I cannot say enough about how impressed I was with the ER. The facility was spotless, all the equiptment appeared to be perfectly placed, and the staff is without peer. And I say all this in want of kinder words to express myself. In short, the NNMC is a genuine credit to the medical community. Sincerely, Steve Russell.
