Kris had repaired electrical problems
in my home on two separate occasions so when I needed an outlet for a new above ground pool I called him. I gave him a deposit for materials and applied for a permit. When the plan for the trench for the conduit and propane pipes (for the heater) to be dug fell through, I asked Kris if he would do it (he had mentioned previously he could dig the trench with the trencher) he said yes and gave me a price. When he finished he pointed to a pile on the trench for the electrical and said “there is some loose dirt I didn’t get but it shouldn’t be too difficult with a shovel. Call me when the propane company is done.”
Since Kris said he had done hundreds of jobs alongside of a propane trench he knew the depth each had to be dug for the inspection to pass. When Bi State arrived to set the pipes there was 6” of dirt in the trench! When I called Kris he said he told me the dirt would have to be dug with a shovel. I disagreed and yes I was upset because I had paid him $250. When I asked when he could fix it and he replied “I could come in the middle of the night. I do have to work for a living.” He was rude and arrogant and wouldn’t even agree to disagree. I had already given him $1000 for materials so I decided to let him finish. He fixed the trench and when it came time for him to finish the job he promised to be here early after I told him Bi State would be here in the afternoon. He showed up at 10:30 am, worked for an hour and then left for 3 hours because he didn’t have a part (even though I gave him money 2 weeks ago) and had to grab lunch. He texted me and said he had only 30 minutes left to work and it took 3 hours!
Once he had my money and I argued with him, he acted like he could care less. If the inspector finds anything wrong I’m calling DC Electric!
Negative experience. Needed lighting fixed for address light, and Kris said he would arrive in 30-45 minutes. He arrived an hour later and determined the address light was connected to the doorbell fuse box which needed to be replaced. He didn't have the necessary part, and we waited while my husband was coming home from work to swing by Home Depot in an effort to save time for everybody and gas for the electrician. He picked up the wrong part so Kris headed off to Home Depot. However, I was concerned about the price at this point (15 minutes of work, 25 minutes waiting) and called him to say not to worry about it-that we'd pay him for the work he'd done so far but that we would finish it as finances are a concern for us right now. He came back to the house when we attempted to pay him and asked about the 25.00 off labor advertised on his website. He got angry, said to forget it all, and drove off. THEN he called me to say how wrong it was of us to request a discount he offered on the website when he was already giving us a discount??? Outrageous-avoid this business unless you're willing to pay them, ask for an advertised discount and want to get berated on the phone later.
