Awful, terrible venue!!. This place is absolutely terrible. The only good thing about it is that it occasionally has good shows and it has a large open floor. Otherwise it is a dump. I doubt anybody would ever go there if they weren't forced to out of need to see a show. The beers are $5 per 12 oz. can of Bud Light, $6 for a crappy imported Corona or Modelo. Talk about capitalizing on customers! The bartenders are very unfriendly and always understaffed. It seems that some of them may not even understand English. The owner of the place exudes an air of superiority as she stands above everybody in the bar like some ghetto queen reigning over her dilapidated kingdom, not even lending a hand when the line around the bar is 10 deep waiting to be served. I strongly suggest drinking beforehand or going across the street to Rail City to get your buzz on, ($4.50 for 3 shots of Tequila!!) and avoid this bar altogether. They really don't know how to treat customers at the New Oasis. Also, with the price they are charging for drinks, you would think they could afford to ventilate, use air conditioner, and spring for some much needed repairs, as the state of disrepair in the whole place, especially the bathrooms is appalling!!! There are only two women's restrooms, one on the floor and one by the bar and they all have broken doors, graffitti, duct tape around every toilet paper dispenser, they are extremely dirty and half the toilets are clogged and literally overflowing with TP and feces the entire time. This place is so awful, I get angry every time I go there. I would rate it a negative 1,000,000 stars if I could. The whole place is a totally trashed out dive.I wish somebody else would open up a music venue so we could scrap this junkpile altogether!
Top Notch Rock Venue. I would like to take my drink everywhere.....I understand that there is more money to be made if these shows are all ages.
Most dissapointing place in Northern Nevada. The New Oasis always has horrible climate control and ventilation. Last Summer I went to a Tech Nine Concert and he quit early because it was so hot. Come 6 months later and still no climate control or ventilation. The place gets to smokey inside, but they wont let you out for fresh air. They will not let you in and out for any reason, which is a big dissapointment for everyone. The New Oasis is very poorly managed and the building is most likely not up to code. It seems like this place is just asking for a case in court. You would think they would want peoples business in economic times like this, but I guess not. Your best option is to stay as far away from this place as possible, FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!!
