I highly recommend FIC/Dr. Cantrell.
I was very impressed with the Fetal Imaging Center. The office staff was very friendly and answered any questions that we had. We never had issues with billing or making payment arrangements. Our U/S tech was very skilled and professional. My first appointment was for an 18 week anatomy scan which resulted in finding multiple issues and returned visits to see Dr. Cantrell. I never waited longer than 5 minutes to be taken back to the exam rooms. Dr. Cantrell is extremely well educated and seemed very confident in making a diagnosis. I trusted her medical opinion and insight; which means a lot when you’re having pregnancy complications.
Regarding the previous posts- Most Ob/Gyns check patients at lunch. I would think that you would want your Dr. at the hospital when you need them there for delivery, especially with a high risk pregnancy. She can’t schedule these things around your appointment… I know that I enjoyed that extra minute or two of her time when I had questions/concerns at the hospital and I would hope you would be more considerate because it could have been you at the hospital with unplanned complications.
As far as termination talk, I received a poor prenatal diagnosis. It’s nice to have a Dr that will discuss ALL options with you; she didn’t suggest one way or another but gave us the information we needed to make an informed decision for the future of our pregnancy. My regular Dr pretty much dropped us after we received our diagnosis and wouldn’t give us ANY information for resources/referrals for our condition. I was SO thankful that Dr. Cantrell was open to discuss every option we had and give follow resources. No one plans to receive poor/non-fatal/fatal prenatal diagnosis’s; Trust me, it’s situations like mine that make you realize how valuable a great doctor is really is. I highly recommend Dr. Cantrell for all high risk pregnancies and FIC for all U/S.
I was raving about them for days..
I just happened to Google the name Fetal Imaging Center to get to their website and I noticed a couple of reviews under the first search result. I rarely leave reviews, but in this case I felt that I had to.
I had a completely 180 degree different experience than the two persons who left these scathing reviews. I had my first appointment at FIC last week and I was literally raving about the place to everyone I know, whether they are pregnant or not. My husband and I left so completely astonished at their service that we have decided we might just have to do a 3D ultrasound just so we can go back there. It was that great.
We arrive 20 minutes early for our 9:15 a.m. appointment. By 9:15 I was already in their comfy room having my ultrasound. We chatted with multiple nurses and Dr. Cattrell (who did our ultrasound) and they were extremely informative, even grabbing books off the shelf to show us exactly what they were talking about. We had a wonderful 20 minute ultrasound and went home with a DVD of the whole thing that was very easy to copy and send out to family. I am only 13 weeks pregnant and I was having early screening for genetic abnormalities, so insurance is covering this appointment.
Long story short, we had an excellent experience at Fetal Imaging Center and I cannot recommend it enough to everyone I know. It's too bad that many times it takes a bad experience for someone to leave a review. In this case I had to give credit where credit was due.
Quality is acceptable, wait time is not.. Due to high risk pregnancy, I have had to visit Fetal Imaging Center multiple times for ultra sounds and consultations regarding gestational diabetes over 6 months. The front desk person is friendly and personable but she's not running the show. Expect to wait. My average wait time was 30 minutes with the longest being a 50 minute wait while the staff appeared to be returning from lunch. That includes observing the doctor walk in after waiting 45 minutes. My first visit was a 5 minute wait. Not sure if there's a bait and switch there or not. But I found that interesting. The technology is great and I could ask questions at any time throughout the ultrasound.
Be Careful.
I would not recommend this imaging center at all.
1. they seem to want to abort all pregnancies for one reason or another.
2. rather that sending a bill to you after going through insurance, they send you directly to a collection agency. Make sure to request a bill or your credit score could be greatly affected.
3. asking a question about what you see on screen is a no-no. I was told by the doctor that questions are very distracting and should be asked when the ultrasound is finished. (kinda hard to ask about what your seeing if it's no longer in view...)
I thought pregnancy was a joy - not a burden.
