Shopping >Used Computer Warehouse
I can't imagine why they don't get 5 stars!.
These are True Geeks -- you don't get mumbo-jumbo sales talk, they don't sell you stuff, they sell you basically three price ranges of computers -- from $199 for a good 1 year old Dell desk top to $499 for a pretty rocking decked-out lap-top. They don't do mac's, only Dells and Compaqs. this is mostly their side business, their main business is replacing computers for companies who have the 1-3 year old replacement agreements. These guys are brilliant and like a lot of brilliant people they have a difficult time communicating -- so when you ask for a computer because you are shopping for one, they will point to what' s out on the shelves and say "well that's what we have". I drive, even at close to $5.00 a gallon gas over 100 miles to get there because their deals are so spectacular and their prices so unbelievable it's worth it.
when you walk in you will be completely underwhelmed. Remember most of their work is off-site. But if you ask them the memory address of say words A-D in MS word, they can rattle it off as a second thought.
I've never had a problem with them except that I keep giving computers i get there away as presents to others! DANG! It's just not right! Trust me, unless you are doing intensive graphics work, the $199 is fine -- AND if you need a dedicated GAC with say 5 gigs of memory, they have one laying around somewhere -- used, but then, the minute you turn your comptuer on it's used too.
Never a problem and so I can't understand why not 5 stars -- count your blessings that these guys care enough to pass along their good prices to you - most people don't do that these days!
In my book, these are worth over a 100 mile drive in a giant pick-up. But then, I only taught comptuer program classes for nearly 20 years. What would I know?
