It was alright. We just happen to stop here to sleep. It is a very rustic place, not the cleanest, and very very country-ish. I slept on a blanket I had in the car (I set it on the bed).

Budget, yes, very 'budget'. Ok, to be fair, the lady running the place, or working the front desk anyways, was very nice and discounted our stay so I won't be too harsh. Anyhow the place is old, that is mentioned. It needs a lot of work but I'm sure the owner(s) don't care because it's on Lake Tahoe so most won't care about the rooms conditions. Here's the skinny:

No aircon or even anything like it, just a fan.

No screens on the windows so air in the room stays and does not circulate in/out.

Ants! Got into our toothbrushes overnight. GROSS!!

Shower went hot/cold/hot frequently so showers were QUICK!

Everything about the room said old and very used.

Careful using stairs to room as they did not have railings (we have small kids).

The smell (need I say more?).

There is some good like the pool area was rather clean and we enjoyed that a lot. Didn't use the hot tub but there was one underneath an overhang.

Like I said nobody is going to stay there for this stuff, they came like we did to have a great time in Tahoe, which we did, and the lady did discount our room charge. Would we stay again? Probably not. Might be good to come up with more cash and get a room at one of the nicer hotels since resting in a place where you're comfortable is as important as the activities of the day. Now you know.

Perfect Budget place to stay!!. After I had read other comments I was kind of wondering if we should stay there or not! This turned out to be the perfect budget hotel! It was clean and the staff very friendly. The down comments which I did not find to bothersome are: it is old and has some whare and tear, a little musty smell at first, then goes away. If you can handle a "motel 8", that's exactally what it makes me think of. The room (patio queen) was very large and everything worked in it. Our room 221 overlooked the pool, so we could watch the kids swim. The pool was nice and clean. All pool furnature was cleaned daily. I can't really comment on the hot tub, but they do have one. The sheets were very, very clean and the bed was comfortable!! FOOD: this was a real bonus! right next door is the Builtmore hotel and casino. They have a huge 1.99 3 eggs, choice of ham, sasauge or bacon and hashbrowns and toast. No one in our group could finish our plates! and the June dinner special is steak and shrimp with choice potatoe and veggies for 7.77 once again, we left with 1 1/2 steaks and 13 shrimp (we had 5 in our party that included 3 teens!). LOCATION: 1/2 mile to Lake Tahoe and walking distance to many cute shops, food, bike rentals and ice cream. It's right on the CA side of the state line. I would be more than happy to stay again! OH and the price 29.00 booked online. We upgraded to the patio queen and paid 32.00 with Orbitz, put that together with the great food prices and it's a great weekend get away!!
